I was recently shocked... i admit I've never been in the military or been a military wife. Call me stupid but i thought when our citizens went into war that our government did everything possible to meet their needs until they came home or met their demise. Well... I'm so very wrong. Soldiers in the wars we're in now are requesting the most common items because their not provided for them and they can't buy them in their px if they even have one where their at .
Why? you ask... because the shelves are empty. Most soldiers have access to a microwave and a fridge but the food they need is often missing from the storage. They ask for canned goods, granola bars, ramen noodles, candy, foods that can easily be cooked in a microwave or not cooked at all like Tuna. You can go to this link & pick a name and read the "needs list" & send something to a unit or to an individual.
They need soap, shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, toothbrushes & the list goes on. Remember that our loved soldiers of different nationalities ie Black, Asian, Oriental, Spanish need some specialized items. Coco butter lotions are exceptionally good for all, hair care items are needed for all items. They all seem to need chap stick.
